These are the rules that keep money out of Momo's verdicts. Each change to them is dated and listed at the foot of this page, so a commitment can only be weakened in the open. How Momo intends to earn its keep is on How Momo makes money.

The commitments

  1. Eligibility verdicts are set before any commercial consideration, and never change because of one. The verdict is the product.
  2. No paid placement, no paid inclusion and no sponsored rows, ever. Providers are listed by verdict, then A to Z. Account tables are grouped by the question that decides them, such as the type of access or whether an issuer needs a UK credit file, and ordered within each group by the figure the table compares, the rate or the APR; where no single figure decides, by verdict, then A to Z. Readers can re-sort any table. Nothing is ordered by commercial value.
  3. Every affiliate link is labelled at the point of the link, not only on a policy page.
  4. Every affiliate link is accompanied by an unpaid direct link to the same provider, on the same row and with equal prominence, so a reader can always take the route that pays Momo nothing.
  5. Providers that decline US persons are named in full on every page they apply to, in the same table style as those that accept, with the reason and the evidence, and are never dropped or collapsed. A provider that declines US persons never carries a paid link.
  6. Where a provider has no affiliate programme, or Momo has no relationship with it, its listing is unchanged. Coverage is set by the eligibility research, not by which providers pay.

Independence

No provider sees or approves a verdict before it is published. A provider that thinks a verdict is wrong can send its evidence like anyone else, and the evidence decides. Whether a provider runs a partner programme is never a reason to list it or to move it.

The specialists directory carries no paid listing, referral fee or affiliate link, and lists firms A to Z.

Corrections

If a verdict looks wrong, email legal@momofinance.co.uk with what you found and where. A search result or a comparison site can prompt a check; only the provider's own page, read again, can give a verdict a new date.

How verdicts are reached

This code covers commercial independence. The evidence behind each verdict, and how it is dated, is set out in the methodology. Every verdict names its source beside it and carries the date it was last updated.

Revisions

Date Change
No change of substance. The brand is now written Momo rather than momo throughout the site, which moves two commitments' wording by one letter each.
First published, with six commitments.
Confirm your own position with a cross-border specialist. Acceptance policies and tax rules change, and your facts may differ from the general case. Rates and terms here are the provider's published figures rather than an offer, and the provider decides each application on its own criteria. Use this as a map, not a ruling. Last checked .
