Cookie policy
Last updatedThis site keeps your cookie settings on your device. Google Analytics sets two cookies, but only if you switch it on. The monthly email form loads from EmailOctopus and brings Google reCAPTCHA with it, which sets one cookie of its own, and none of it is fetched until you scroll to the form. There is no advertising cookie and no affiliate tracking.
Everything the site stores
A cookie is a small file a site saves in your browser; local storage does the same job without being sent back to the server. The site uses both, as follows.

What runs without storing anything
Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits and the links followed from each page, including links to a provider's site. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. It runs unless you switch visit counting off in the cookie settings, and "Reject all" switches it off too. It does not respond to a browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, so the setting here, or a content blocker, is the way to stop it. What it receives is set out in the privacy policy.
The typeface is served from this site, so reading a page makes no request to a font service. The one exception is the signup form, which brings a font of its own; the next section sets out everything it loads.
The monthly email form
The signup form at the foot of most pages is built by EmailOctopus, and its code brings Google reCAPTCHA with it to tell a person from a bot. Neither is requested when a page loads. The form's code is fetched only when the form itself scrolls into view, so a page you read without reaching the bottom of contacts neither company. Below is everything the form reaches once it does load.

Of those, reCAPTCHA is the only one that stores anything, and it is in
the table above as _GRECAPTCHA. EmailOctopus's own
script sets no cookie and uses no browser storage, and neither the badge
image nor the type style sheet sets anything either. Switching
JavaScript off, or a content blocker, stops the form loading at all;
what happens to your address once you have sent it is in the
privacy policy.
reCAPTCHA is the one thing on this site that the cookie settings do not switch. It is not run for Momo's benefit and it is not analytics: it arrives with the form, to keep the list from filling with bot signups, and it is loaded only when you scroll to the form rather than on every page. Whether that makes it necessary to a thing you asked for, or something that ought to need your consent first, is a question Momo has put to a solicitor rather than decided for itself. If the answer is consent, it will get a category here and this page will say so before anything changes.
How each choice starts
- Essential: Remembers the choices you make here, on your device only. Always on, because without it the site would ask on every page.
- Google Analytics: Sets two cookies so Momo can see which pages are read and how visitors arrive. Off unless you switch it on.
- Visit counting: Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits and the links followed, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. On unless you switch it off.
No advertising or affiliate tracking runs on this site. If a paid link is ever introduced, the tracking behind it will need your consent first, and this page will list it before it runs. How that would work is on How Momo makes money.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time, on this page. Every page links the cookie policy in its footer.
Switching Google Analytics off deletes its cookies straight away and it does not load again. When the list above changes, the site asks you again, because a choice about the old list does not cover the new one.
Other sites
A link to a provider takes you to that provider's own site, which sets its own cookies under its own policy. Momo passes nothing about you to it.
