# momo

> momo maps which UK banks, savings providers, ISAs, brokers, SIPPs and mortgage lenders will actually open an account for a US citizen living in the UK, and explains the US tax rules (FATCA, FBAR, PFIC, the US-UK treaty) that decide it.

Every verdict names the provider, the evidence behind it and the date it was last checked, and the source is printed next to the verdict on the page so a reader can check it. A verdict a person has not yet confirmed still shows on the site, marked 'not yet verified', and is kept out of this index, out of the structured data and out of the dataset below. Tax explainers are general and published on their own review date. Use this as a map of where to start, not as personal advice.
